     Summary

    As a Senior Programmer, you will collaborate as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary project team of subject matter experts and clinical specialists on a wide range of problems. The Senior Programmer creates and maintains innovative software solutions, which enhance efficiencies for MCA customers and departments.  The Senior Programmer will focus on development, support, and maintenance of new and legacy web applications in a fast-paced, high-demand team environment to help the customer realize mission-enabling benefits from implementing leading-edge technologies.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and build efficient, well tested, and reusable User Interface custom components using JavaScript, NET, C#, WPF, HTML5, CSS, Atlassian products, Python, 4D, and Batch/Shell scripting.
    • Analyze and interpret complex requirements from customers
    • Ensure consistency with an established software development architecture
    • Introduce new technologies and best practices as needed to solve business problems
    • Be a part of development team to create practical solutions in Agile/DevOps environment
    • Be an expert in researching and identifying technical solutions
    • Be a mentor to other staff team members
    • Work under consultative or self-initiated direction to develop innovative, data-driven software solutions that enable efficiency or complicated analysis
    • Interface with various MCA departments and end-users to gather business requirements used to develop useful software solutions
    • Design elegant and understandable code with clear process flow and version control
    • Create efficient front-end designs
    • Learn new development techniques and programming languages as the field continues to evolve and MCA needs dictate
    • Enhance existing systems through regular communication with key stakeholders, analysis, modification, and improvement
    • Comply with all State and Federal regulations and abide by company policies and procedures
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from accredited 4-year college or university required in Information Technology or related field
    • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making capabilities
    • 10+ years of related programming experience
    • Experience developing and maintaining software solutions that encompass both database and Windows application solutions
    • Ability to explain and demonstrate highly technical concepts and applications to team members of varying technical familiarity

    • Programming Experience
      • C#, .NET, WPF
      • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
      • Python
      • 4D
      • MSSQL/MySQL
      • Batch/Shell scripting
    • Familiarity with Atlassian Products (especially JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket)
    • Experience with project management and Agile methodologies
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate development efforts with all stakeholders and team members
    • Ability to write technical documentation to support version control, department SOPs, and collaboration with external entities

    Preferred Skills

    • Active or recent (last 6 months) public trust level or higher federal government clearance
    • Demonstrated development of multiple stable and widely-used applications
    • Expert working knowledge of Atlassian Products (especially JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket)
